The registration fee includes the following:

  • internet access during the conference
  • opening reception on Monday evening
  • morning and afternoon coffee breaks
  • lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • banquet at Athenaeum on Thursday evening

Conference Banquet

When you register we ask that you please RSVP for the conference banquet at the Caltech Athenaeum on Thursday, June 27 at 6:30 pm. Cost for the banquet is included in your registration fee; we cannot issue a refund if you do not attend the banquet.

Explore the Getty's world class art collection against a backdrop of dramatic architecture and tranquil gardens. Note that the schedules for the two Wednesday afternoon field trips overlap enough so that you cannot participate in both.

The Griffith Observatory

This trip will take place later in the day to give you the opportunity to watch the sunset over the city of Los Angeles and to view the nighty sky through the historic Zeiss telescope. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the science exhibits and the planetarium show in this historic building. Note that the schedules for the two Wednesday afternoon field trips overlap enough so that you cannot participate in both.

If you wish to purchase tickets one of the Wednesday afternoon tours after you have already registered and paid for the conference, please contact us at so that we can provide you with a wavier code to bypass the registration fee.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received in writing or via email by May 16, 2013 for a full refund less a $75 processing charge. Cancellations received May 17 through June 7 receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made after June 8 or persons who do not appear at the workshop are not eligible for any refund.
