The twenty-fifth annual Greater IPAC Science Symposium (GISS) will be held from August 21st to August 22nd 2025, Thursday and Friday. This year we will have a hybrid symposium (Keith Spalding 410 and Online via Zoom)
GISS is a forum for presenting, discussing and learning more about the diverse research that is being carried out across the greater IPAC community. This science symposium is open to all interested people from the community within IPAC, JPL, Caltech, and the greater Los Angeles area who would like to learn more about the work being done at IPAC. Attendance is not limited to scientists.
Format will be 15 minute oral talks (12 + 3 for questions). The talks are meant to be informal, and some levity is encouraged!
- Want to share some preliminary/exciting results?
- Wondering who all those post-docs and students are?
- Who is that person you keep seeing at the virtual All Hands?
- What do all these people around here actually do, anyway?
Here's where you can find out!
GISS will include a number of invited speakers, a reception with food and trivia, and an additional highlight will be the "State of IPAC" presentation by Executive Director Tom Greene (for IPAC staff only).
All projects are being asked to cancel project meetings during the symposium, and to give consideration of the meeting when assigning deadlines.
