Visa Information
In most cases, all foreign participants will need a visa to travel to the People's Republic of China and participate to the TMT Science Forum, exceptions made of some countries with "visa-free right of entry" (check with your nearest consulate/embassy). Please, note that your passport must have a minimum validity of 6 months from date of travel and two blank visa pages prior to apply for a visa.

>> We strongly encourage you to contact your nearest Chinese consulate as early as possible to start the visa process, and get the list of documents required.
Please, note that, usually, a tourist visa (L type) is sufficient for traveling to China, attend the Forum and spend some personal time visiting.
Documents that may be required from the Chinese consulate/embassy to process your visa application are (list non exhaustive): a copy of your return plan ticket, the details of your hotel bookings, possibly a letter of invitation. If the visa application requires the name, address and phone number of an inviting person in China, please email "forum@tmt.org".
