Travel & transport information

In case of questions regarding traveling to India, you can contact the Forum LOC

Required vaccination:

The yellow fever vaccination is only required if the traveler arrives from an infected area. See more information page 21 of this document provided by WHO.

Other vaccinations might be recommended but are not mandatory (consult your personal physician).

Closest international airport:

The main international airport near Mysore is in Bangalore. Ideally, all travellers should plan on booking flights with an arrival at "Kempegowda" International Airport in Bangalore.

Transport between Bangalore airport and Mysore:

  • Complimentary bus transport: For the time being, the Forum LOC is organizing one afternoon bus transport (departure 2h30pm) on Nov. 05 and Nov. 06, between Bangalore airport and Mysore. The LOC has sent an E-mail with all details about the transport logistics to all meeting participants (if you haven't received the email, contact the LOC to inquire about transport arrangements).
  • Forum participants are also welcome to make their own travel arrangements between Bangalore airport and Mysore by booking private taxis (available at the airport), or using alternate buses such as FLYBUS (not free), also with direct connection to Mysore (timetable for alternate bus transport can be found using this link).

The drive from Bangalore Kempegowda international airport to the Infosys campus in Mysore takes about 3.5 to 4h (depending traffic).

Transport in Mysore, between hotels area and the Infosys campus:

Free transport will be organized in the morning and evening to pick-up and drop-off meeting attendants who have elected to stay off-campus rather than on-campus. The transport timetable will be provided later. The morning pickup points will be the two hotels mentionned on the accomodation page. Note that it takes about 20-30min to drive from the hotels to the Infosys campus.

Please, note that a travel-agent desk will be available on-campus each day of the Forum to help all participants with travel reservations during their stay in India.  This information is also available at this link.

Checking in at Infosys:

Please plan 5-10 extra minutes on your first day to check at the Infosys gate. ID will be cheched by Infosys security, who will deliver your badge. This badge will be valid for the duration of the Forum. Check-in will be faster the following days, but all bags will be scanned at each entry, and everyone will need to go through a metal detector gate.
