The Venue
The BUFFALO 2019 Collaboration Meeting will be hosted at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art, located on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).
Since its founding in 1967, the Barrick has presented fine art exhibitions and educational outreach events to thousands of visitors. The collection is enhanced by strong ties to regional artwork, most notably the Las Vegas Art Museum Collection and the Nevadan portion of the Dorothy and Herbert Vogel 50x50 Collection. The exhibits are a standing celebration of not only contemporary American history, but also of the long-standing traiditional artwork of the indigious people of the American Southwest. Modern art is also embraced by the Barrick, presenting artwork from more contemporary techinques.
The Barrick regularly hosts public lectures from UNLV faculty, as well as from a variety of visiting artists from international locales. As part of its position within UNLV, the museum works hand-in-hand with student artists as both a creative environment and platform to exhibit their artwork.
Located only a short walk from the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, the Marjorie Barrick Museum at UNLV provides an ideal venue for BUFFALO 2019. The mainstay of the meeting will happen in the museum auditorium, with coffee breaks just outside in the atrium. Attendees are encouraged to view the exhibitions as well.
