Las Vegas has over 150,000 hotel rooms, meaning that it is possible to find affordable hotels easily by booking them independently.  Please note that several properties, particularly those on the Las Vegas Strip, include a non-negotiable "resort fee" on top of the booking price.  Shuttle service between the Excalibur and the Barrick Museum will run each morning and afternoon of the conference, with the exception of Wednesday afternoon, when we will leave directly for the excursion in Death Valley.

We will be booking a group block of rooms at the Excalibur Hotel, on the south part of the Las Vegas Strip, for approximately $75 per night in total (including resort fee and taxes), for anybody who prefers this and informs us by December 31.  If you would like to be part of the hotel block, please let us know during registration, as we need a final number of guests before we book the block in order to avoid vacancy charges.  You will still be able to use the shuttle from the Excalibur if you are staying elsewhere; there is a monorail between the Excalibur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay, and the Excalibur is across the street from the MGM, New York New York, and Tropicana hotels.
