Abstract Submission

The SOC is committed to building an inclusive conference agenda and is looking for ways to facilitiate vibrant, thoughtful, and respectful discussions between all participants.

Attendees may submit abstracts for talks, posters, and splinter sessions. You may make multiple submissions and submit to more than one category. Please fill out the abstract form for each abstract you wish to submit. Submissions are widely solicited and encouraged. Abstracts will be anonymously ranked and selected by the SOC.

Submission Form for Contributed Talks and Posters (closed)

Posters: February 17th submission deadline

There will be dedicated poster sessions during the conference and each in person poster presenter will have a 4' x 4' (1.2 m x 1.2 m) area for display. The deadline for poster submission is February 17th 2023 at 11:59pm Pacific US time.

Complete this poster questionnaire after you submit your poster abstract, or if you have already submitted a poster abstract.  This questionnaire will allow you to opt in for pop consideration and for the poster competition.

Posters will be displayed throughout the entire conference, and the coffee breaks that happen twice each day will be centered in the poster room to allow ample opportunity to show off your work.

Poster Pops:  On Tuesday, March 28 we have time set aside for 1-minute poster pops.  Since there are more poster submissions than we have space for, we will randomly select the pop presenters following the February 17 submission deadline.  Pop presenters will be asked to submit a PDF of 1 slide maximum for their pop presentation.

Early Career Poster Competition on Monday and Tuesday of the conference:  Student and postdoc in-person attendees can sign-up to participate in the competition to be judged by the SOC; following the February 17 submission deadline, you will be notified as to when your poster will be judged.  The top two poster presenters (ranked in terms of poster appearance, science content, and presentation skills) will be offered a talk slot on the last day of the conference to present their work.

Submission Form for Splinter Sessions (closed)

Note that while we will have the option for participants to attend remotely, this is intended to be primarily an in-person conference and we have only a limited number of slots available for remote presentations.

Contributed Talks: November 17th submission deadline

Contributed talks will be ~15 minute presentations. We hope to accommodate as many requests as possible. The deadline is November 17th 2022 at 11:59pm Pacific US time, with notifications expected by the end of December. All abstracts not selected for a talk will automatically be considered for a poster.

Splinter Sessions: November 17th submission deadline

We are also soliciting abstracts for splinter sessions to be held during EPRV 5.  These are envisioned as smaller, topical sessions where the splinter organizers can arrange some combination of presentations, panels, or open discussions for conference attendees.  The deadline is November 17th 2022 at 11:59pm Pacific US time, with notifications expected by the end of December.
